Christmas 2014

What's special this Christmas? Rachael! It's her first Christmas. Other than that, everything is pretty much the same.

We went to Orchard Road for lights after Christmas service!

This is something we didn't do when we were just a couple.

Rachael didn't smile much because she was already very tired after dinner.

I had a birthday cum Christmas lunch with friends in school. And I brought Rachael along.

And I went to meet hubby after that.

And I love this picture even though it's a little blurred!

And of course, not forgetting the Yeoh's Christmas Eve dinner.

And the sumptuous meal prepared by Charlene!

More exciting posts coming up!

Rachael down with virus

We finally brought Rachael to see a PD yesterday evening at Anthony's Baby and Child clinic at Hougang. The PD gave her Zyrtec, cough syrup, nose drops and oral Ned for congested nose.

We waited for about 1.5 hours and paid $139. The PD was really nice. He gave Rachael toys to play with and kept praising her for being a good baby. He even gave her two kisses. He asked us whether there's anyone that's sick at home because what Rachael has gotten is probably a virus. We couldn't recall where we had gone to before all these started last week. But now I remembered! She went for CGM last Friday and started having runny nose on Saturday! Ok, that might be a coincidence. But well, I guess, I will be more cautious the next time.

Anyway, after giving her the medication and nose drop, Rachael seems to be having a good rest. What a relief! We are finally sleeping in air con room after suffering the heat for three days. I really hope she will fully recover soon! I miss my super happy baby!!!

Oh, did I mention that she's 7.385kg now? Should I be worried that she only put on about 100g since October? But she seemed much much heavier than before.

Dear Heavenly Father, once again I lift up Rachael into Your loving hands. I pray that You will heal her completely and bring back the cheerful disposition of Rachael. I pray that she will not need to suffer from any virus or catch on any medical history from us, her parents. I pray that she will continue to grow up healthily and be blessed. I pray that she will not be fearful or resistant towards my in laws. I pray that hubby and I will be good role models for her in every way. I pray that the Holy Spirit will constantly guide us and lead us in our daily walk with You. I thank You, Father, for loving us unconditionally. I thank You for blessing me with a loving hubby and a precious daughter. I thank You for all that You have blessed me with before, now and forever. I love You, Father. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

Candlelight Service 2014

It's December! Christmas month. I was really looking forward to the Candlelight service last week and Christmas service this week because it's the first year that Rachael is celebrating Christmas with us.

Sadly, Rachael was still unwell last week and she did not look happy during the service.

No smiles from her the whole day.

Not even when she's trying to snatch the phone.

Everyone's smiling except her...

And she was really sleepy. I guessed that's what happens when one is sick.

So baby, mummy really hope you will be totally well NOW. Yes, NOW! No more tortures for you and your daddy and mummy. Daddy actually teared in the service because of you. Please get well NOW! By the stripes of Jesus, you are healed!! Amen!!!!

Runny nose...

It has been a week since Rachael last had runny nose. Pains our heart to see her not breathing properly and crying her heart out when we tried to spray her nose and use suction tools to get the mucus out. Our happy girl has become so grouchy this entire week.

Can you see her tired eyes? It was not so bad previously as she still smiled as usual.

But can feel that it's not those hearty smiles that she used to have.

Probably it's our fault for bringing her out all the time. We brought her to IKEA from 7pm till 11plus! And she seemed to enjoy her ride in the trolley.

But she's not longer smiley when we took welfie together.

She's still cute nonetheless.

Hubby said if Rachael falls asleep on the bed, that means the bed is good. So we put her on one of the bed. Lol!

Haha! I guessed that's not being fair to IKEA. Anyway, we bought a set of bath cups and a cloth book for her.

Look at this cute but grouchy look.

Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up Rachael into Your loving hands. I pray that You will heal Rachael's nose totally that it will not be congested again. I pray for the mucus to be gone in Jesus' name! Help her to be able to breathe properly again. Let her eat and drink well again. Let her smile heartily again! In Jesus' most precious name I pray, amen!

Rachael's first beach experience!

Hubby had been wanting to bring me to Tanjong Beach Club even before I was pregnant. But somehow, the timing was always not appropriate. Yesterday, we finally made it to TBC!! And it was Rachael's virgin trip to the beach, our virgin trip to the beach as a FAMILY.

Thank God for good weather. It was sunny, really hot. So hot that Rachael was perspiring and she didn't smile at all. Well, sunny is much better than thunderstorm. So thank God for holding the rain!

Check out her grumpy look under the hot weather...

Well, she looked tired right? Must be sleepy... NO! Look at her face when we went to the air conditioned car!

Not as happy as her usual self, but at least she smiled.

Regretted not bringing her swimming attire to let her dip in the water. She might be interested since it's so hot. The pool was so inviting!

After nursing her and finishing up my hot beer, the sun seemed less scorching and we brought her to a shady place to experience sand for the first time.

I had to sing in order to get her to smile and look at me.

Otherwise, all other photos are like this...

Our objective to let her play with sand was met!!

And I'm totally impressed by iPhone 6's camera. Look at all the vibrant colors in the photos!

The dreadful part of bringing Rachael out to play with the sand or to swim is to bathe her. The water was cold and I had to carry her to bathe her. I've seriously not master the art of doing so.

After a quick soapless shower, we made our way to vivo to window shop and to have dinner.

She must be thinking "伤脑筋!When is mummy going to stop taking photo of me!"

Ermx, I stopped and changed to taking photo of hubby because she fell asleep after that.

Look at the exaggerated look on my hubby's face when we saw the gigantic sugar stick!

And he showed his super 爱演 character here.

If you can't see what's on the shirt, here's a closer view.

This is the kind of quality time that I like to spend with my family. Lots of time taking photos, creating memories and playing a fool together.

I thank God for this wonderful day and pray for more of such opportunities to spend QUALITY time with them again!

First wedding dinner together!

Last Sunday, we attended Huilin and Yongsheng's wedding together as a family. We've attended wedding lunch before but this is the first wedding dinner for Rachael.

As usual, she was such a darling.

Everyone was so amazed at how happy and excited she was when we took welfie together. It was so fun!

And she made a new friend. She's usually dao towards other kids. But that day she smiled and held another boy's hand. The daddy is worried. Lol!

Anyway, I think attending wedding is a very tiring event for Rachael. She slept till 2 plus in the afternoon the next day. The previous wedding lunch, she slept till 12plus the next day. Our poor baby is a sleeping monster!!

Rachael's first CG meeting

Rachael and I went to visit Christine's CG with Jane on Thursday. It was Rachael's first time attending CGM in person and also the first time I attended CGM after giving birth.

It has been a long time since I remembered we had a peaceful CGM. Where there's no noise, just songs of praise and worship for God. Rachael just sat there quietly with me for more than 1 hour!

She did let out some sound during praise and a man called David was impressed as he said she's praising God. It must have been a long time since they last saw a baby (their sons and daughters are all grown up). So some of them were pretty attracted to Rachael and carried her after CGM. They were all amazed and praised her for sitting through quietly for 1 hour plus.

After the CGM, she was so thirsty that I had to give her some water. It's really time to get a nice bottle for her.

There you go! A nice photo of Rachael with the Christmas hat and a star as the backdrop. She didn't attempt to pull off the hat at all! Ok, should I be worried? Is she not sensitive to things placed on her head? I hope not.

Anyway, Christmas is coming!!

Rachael is 8... months old!

Wow! Time really flies! My baby is 8 months old already. She's been a really good baby all these while, although she sometimes drives me nuts when she fusses at night before sleeping. People are amazed at how well behaved she is and we definitely hope this good behavior will carry on for life.

Did you notice how she adores me? Lol!

Anyway, I pray that she will continue to grow up healthy, strong and well mannered.

Take a look at all her funny expressions!

I really love spending time with you, Rachael. You are so full of smiles and mummy and daddy love you more and more each day.

I suddenly have a thought last night. How will I cope when she goes to school? Oh well, I might cry... But that's normal right?

For now, I really hope to catch all her milestone personally rather than hear it from others. I love you, Rachael!

Busy busy...

The past one week had been really busy. We were so exhausted each day when we get back home. And Rachael had been waking up often to drink milk. I'm tired to the max!

It all started last Friday when we went to airport to send hubby's pupils off to Japan and I had a short meet up with Lynn and Sharon till midnight.

From all smiles...

To no smiles...

My poor tired baby.

Then on Saturday, we woke up early at 9plus and attended Xuann's wedding lunch at Four Seasons Hotel and missed her music lesson. Then I received a call that the class was cancelled till further notice because the enrollment is low. So Rachael will be free on Saturday again.

Anyway, after the lunch, we went for service and after service fellowship. She looked so pretty in the flowery dress. But I didn't manage to get her in a nice shot.

All the photos were blurred.

Hubby, Rachael and I concussed the next day. We all felt so tired. Rachael didn't smile much when we went for dinner with my in-laws. Poor baby. Look at her photos...

The above picture had only a slight smile. The rest that I took, she was frowning. And that was her expression for the whole night. See...

Thank God that only lasted one day. She's all smiles again.

And she seems to be smiling like Doraemon these days.

And look at how tired I was. Rachael has recovered but I've not. I still feel very tired each day after coming back from work.

My eyes tell it all... Yawns...

Two more days and the school term will end. Then another one to two weeks of 9-5 meetings and I can be a SAHM again. I can't wait!!!
